Meet Our Team
Dr. Tony Alber
Dr. Alber is from Roswell, New Mexico where he grew up watching his dad work as a mixed animal veterinarian. He went to New Mexico State University before his acceptance into veterinary school. He graduated from Colorado State University with his degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2000. He practiced at Power Road Animal Hospital in east Mesa for 6 years, and served as its medical director for 2 years. In June of 2006, he took over Prestige Animal Clinic from the previous owner and has been dedicated to all of his clients and patients ever since.
Dr. Jennifer Freeman
Originally from the midwest, Dr. Freeman transplanted to Gilbert, Arizona in 1989. She graduated from Gilbert High School (Go Tigers!) in 1993. She then attended the University of Arizona before attending Colorado State University for veterinary school. She graduated from Colorado State University in 2000 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree Summa Cum Laude (top of her class). She then completed an intensive one year internship at Mesa Veterinary Hospital working with specialists in multiple areas of veterinary medicine. She then stayed on with Mesa Veterinary Hospital for 3 more years as a general practitioner before moving over to Power Road Animal Hospital to work with her husband, Dr. Alber, in 2004. In June of 2006, Dr. Alber and Dr. Freeman were ready to begin their own practice so they took over Prestige Animal Clinic in Gilbert from the previous owner.
Dr. Alber and Dr. Freeman's story
We met in veterinary school and graduated in the same class from Colorado State University in 2000 . We moved to the east valley after graduation and married in 2002. We have 2 boys, ages 8 and 4, and have 2 very energetic terriers, Buck and Truman. We enjoy working together and have tried very hard to make great improvements to the building and practice of Prestige Animal Clinic. We appreciate our dedicated staff and feel fortunate to have such wonderful people helping us to make our practice better each day!
Dr. Carin Sunderman
Dr. Sunderman was born and raised in Phoenix. She attended the University of Arizona and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Sciences. She then attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and graduated with honors from the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (where she was classmates with Drs. Alber and Freeman). Dr. Sunderman has practiced veterinary medicine for 10 years in Fountain Hills and Scottsdale before moving to Gilbert and joining the Prestige family. Her professional interests focus on preventative medicine and preserving quality of life for her patients and their families. She feels client education and communication are indispensable in acheiving these goals, and loves talking with clients about their pets. Dr. Sunderman's time away from work is spent with her husband, their 2 young sons, their dog, and their horse. She enjoys anything involving the great outdoors, especially hiking with her family.

Tammy, Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Tammy and I have been a veterinary technician for 13 years. I have 6 dogs, 2 cats, a parrot, 2 bearded dragons, and fish. As you can tell, I love animals and that is why I love my job!
Lynda, Certified Veterinary Technician and Hospital Manager
Hi, my name is Lynda. I grew up in west Texas where my Dad brought home every orphaned animal imaginable for my Mom to raise. We had everything from raccoons to crows. I can still remember at the age of 4 standing on my tip toes at a veterinary hospital trying to see what the doctor was doing to my puppy. I knew from that moment I wanted to be in the veterinary field. I attended both UT Arlington and Texas A&M University where I was preparing to attend vet school, but my husband's job relocated us to Arizona. My oldest daughter, Krystal, is a newly graduated veterinarian and has married a veterinarian! My youngest daughter, Jordan, age 13, is an animal lover too and I wouldn't be surprised if she follows the rest of us into veterinary medicine. I have been a veterinary technician for almost 20 years now and I love it! I have a wonderful pitbull named Moochie, a peach faced lovebird named Pretty Bird, and 2 horses named Joey and Jazzie.
Natalia, Veterinary Technician and Receptionist
Hi , my name is Natalia, I have been a Veterinary Technician for 5 years and absolutely love my job and working for Dr. Alber and Dr. Freeman. The entire staff is very close with each other and we really are like a family here. I am the mother to a 3 year old boy and Emma my rescue dog.
Heather, Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Heather. I'm originally from Massachusetts. I have six dogs, five cats, and one bird. My family moved to Arizona a few years ago, and I decided it was time for me to join them. I worked at a Human Medical Clinic for several years back east. I decided with my move that I wanted to do what I really loved, work with animals. I'm fortunate that I found Dr. Alber and Dr. Freeman as my vets who were willing to also hire me. I hadn't worked with animals before, only people. I am now working with a wonderful group of people, and I love coming here every day.
Kristen, Veterinary Technician
Hi, my name is Kristen. I have 3 wonderful dogs that I rescued named Bravo, Brutus, and Hatari. I am currently going to MCC to become a Certified Veterinary Technician and eventually off to Colorado to become a veterinarian.
Marcie, Veterinary Assistant
My name is Marcie and I have grown up with animals always close by. I am currently attending Arizona State University with a major in Aeronautical Sciences with aspirations to become a pilot. I consider myself very blessed to be able to come to work and have that passion about it. At home, I have four kitties; Max, Rocky, Candie, and Dolly. I look forward to sharing my love and compassion for animals with everyone.
